Bringing Your Best to the New Year

As we reflect on the newness 2021 brings we are both excited and intimidated by all of the things we could do with this brand new year. Knowing the challenges of 2020 left many of us tired and unsure, we wanted to take the time to consider what it means to bring our best self forward in every aspect of our lives, trying new things, and providing ourselves space to grow. Our team has put together a few best practices to help you feel your best in 2021.




Mental Health: 

It goes without saying that mental health is incredibly important. It’s how we stay calm, collected, and feel our best when working through challenges. One easy way to stay grounded and supported is to try out a gratitude journal! All you need is a pen and some paper, taking a few moments each day to write down things you’re grateful for. By connecting with gratitude you’re grounding yourself in the present and providing your mind space to rest.




Physical Health:

Many scientists discuss the importance of exercise as it contributes to your mood and chemical levels in the brain. An easy way to get yourself moving is to try out some simple yoga practices. There are hundreds of free online classes, with every degree of difficulty. Maybe even find one with a meditation included to give yourself an extra moment of peace.




Relationships:

When it comes to relationships, there are a thousand and one opinions on best practices, but one thing that many relationship experts can agree on is the importance of acts of kindness. Whether it’s doing the dishes so your partner doesn’t have to, making a special dinner for your family on a whim or even calling your parents out of the blue, these small, intentional acts will show how much you care for the important people in your life.




Community: 

If we’ve learned anything this past year it’s that community is everything, and though it is easy to focus on ourselves, it is important to recognize the needs in your community and see how you can support initiatives in your local area.
