Talking Spring with Tanya
We are ecstatic at the thought of spring, so we decided to sit down and chat with the person responsible for bringing all of our spring goodies to Andrews. Our buyer, Tanya Apsega is here with a sneak peak of what you can expect to see in store and online in the coming Spring Summer 2021 season.

When you think about the SS21 season, what has you feeling excited?
Floral prints, lush pastels and airy silhouettes. I love a cozy luxe sweater as much as anyone, but after this long winter, I can't wait to get into some lightweight linen and cotton.
Can you tell us a little bit about some of the major themes you focused on for SS21?
This has been one of the most interesting seasons to buy for. We've gone through so much change in the last year, and the collections are showing this modern shift in our lifestyles. What we looked for were versatile pieces you want to live in. Beautiful, well-made clothing worthy of adding to your wardrobe.

What are some of the top trends our clients can look forward to seeing at Andrews?
Polished loungewear and monochromatic dressing. I love the look of head-to-toe pairings in fresh neutrals.
On the flip side we also have some amazing bright colours and joyful prints. There's also an appreciation for the handcrafted and we're seeing this through embroidery and crochet in statement tops and knits. The cardigan twin set looks new and modern.

What was your favourite trend for SS21?
It's the season of the dress. Whether it's the modern house dress in loungey t-shirt shapes or voluminous sundresses that can be dressed up or down, it's such an easy way to feel pretty and pulled together.
Which pieces from SS21 will you be snapping up?
We just received the pre spring Smythe collection and I'm loving their 90’s blazer which has beautiful blue flower embroidery. It can go so many ways. It's got an ease of fit making it a comfortable but sharp look for virtual meetings. Once the spring arrives and the evenings warm up I'll wear it out with denim, layered over a tee.

I'm also very excited for our Xirena printed dresses. Can't help dreaming about that Malibu air and their made-in-LA cotton dresses are a real treasure.
And then there's all our lovely Italian brands Rosso, Tonet, Forte Forte and Fabiana Filippi. These designers are working with some of the finest Italian fabrics - perfect for spring dressing in natural shades like almond, terracotta, stone and saffron.
We hope you’re feeling as excited for Spring as we are! Make sure you’re subscribed to our weekly newsletter to see all our new arrivals right as they come in.
