From the Fall 2016 Runways : Scarf Tying 101

A scarf is an integral part of a women's wardrobe, some can tell a story while others can give off a sense of luxury when crafted with fine fabrics like silk and wool. We have all worn a scarf around our neck or tied in a specific way, but on the fall 2016 runways we saw some unconventional ways to wear our favourite accessory!

At the Altuzarra show, scarves were used to cinch in the waist as well as adorn the handbags. The designer was quoted saying “I imagine a woman finding an old scarf in her closet, she then ties it around her waist or bag in an easy and nonchalant way.”

On the runways at Louis Vuitton, many handbags had decorative scarves tied around their straps. We love how this can completely change the look of a purse, and compliment an outfit perfectly!

During the Gucci show, some models sported silk scarves tied around their head like a bandana. We love the un-fussy look that could work well for day or night.

At Loewe's show, scarves were used as a sort of bracelet, creating movement on the runway as well as an interesting accessory we can't wait to try!

Christopher Kane used this scarf almost like a "bonnet" of sorts, a great way to protect tresses on a windy day in the fall!
