The Andrews Assistant Store Manager performs an essential role by supporting the Store Manager to achieve growth for the store. The ideal candidate will undertake either the Sales or the Operations responsibilities. The Assistant Manager for store operations will support daily activities such as inventory tracking, staff rota scheduling, and ensuring the store appearance meets company standards. The Assistant Manager for sales will support daily activities such as talent and performance management

The candidate should possess firm supervisory skills and demonstrated experience in luxury womenswear retail and be able to assign duties to relevant employees in order to maintain the function of the store.

Responsibilities

Andrews is on a strategic journey to deliver a best-in-class customer experience driven by our transition to an omnichannel business and operating model. Our Assistant Store Managers perform essential roles, either by supporting the management of store operations or the in-store sales team.

APPLICABLE TO THE SALES ROLE:

Sales and Service

  • Support Store Manager with planning, setting, and achieving store, personal, and store-staff sales targets
  • Provide deputy management support to liaising with cross-functional team to organize sales promotions and in-store events
  • Support Store Manager with development for store’s portfolio of high-net-worth customers
  • Ensure team is kept up to date on changes to products, product, and vendor knowledge, offers, and promotions.
  • Provide deputy management support with store’s Sales Performance analysis and reporting
  • Deputise in the Store Manager’s absence with appropriate return authorizations and execute pricing decisions of up to 10% off the normal net price

Business Management

  • Work with Store Manager to maintain team’s awareness of current market trends, competitive benchmarking, and customer feedback and provide relevant input to Buying and Management team.
  • Build a good supportive relationship with the Buying and Management team.
  • Coordinate with Assistant Store Manager – Operations Lead to provide relief in Store Manager’s absence by ensuring opening, closing, and cashing up correctly, ensuring relevant paperwork has been completed correctly

People Management

  • Assist Store Manager by providing positive and developmental feedback to coach, mentor, and train team on Sales and Clienteling Excellence that is in line with company policy.
  • Deputise and work with Assistant Store Manager – Operations to provide relief during Store Manager’s absence for monthly team meetings to ensure the team are on track with Key Performance Indicators
  • Support Store Manager with recruitment, onboarding, development and of sales associates and stylists.

APPLICABLE TO THE OPERATIONS ROLE

Sales and Service

  • Manage and administer weekly rota for the team ensuring adequate cover is available for customer service on the shop floor and assigning replenishment and merchandising duties
  • Provide insight into visual merchandising requirements for the store environment
  • Oversee alterations in scheduling and task assignment for Tailors
  • Provide required reporting for Customer queries, complaints, and feedback to Back Office to improve customer service processes

Business Management

  • Support Store Manager with maintaining and controlling budgets and costs
  • Coordinate with the Assistant Store Manager – Sales Lead to provide relief in Store Manager’s absence by ensuring opening, closing, and cashing up correctly, ensuring relevant paperwork has been completed correctly
  • Support Store Manager and Leadership by ensuring regular Key Performance Indicator reports for Sales, Service, Business, and People are completed and submitted
  • Support Store Manager with maintaining store appearance and environment duties are assigned and carried out
  • Support the organization’s strategic journey by integrating essential changes to store process, staff, and environment.
  • Build a good supportive relationship with the Buying and Management team.

People Management

  • Assist Store Manager by providing positive and developmental feedback to coach, mentor, and train associates on Customer Service excellence that is in line with company policy.
  • Deputise and work with Assistant Store Manager – Sales Lead to provide relief during Store Manager’s absence for monthly team meetings to ensure the team is on track with Key Performance Indicators
  • Assist Store Manager by ensuring all HR and Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Support Store Manager with recruitment, onboarding, development, and of store support team and tailors.
  • Support Store Management with completing payroll activities, including sending new starters, employee changes, and leaver information to HR accurately and on time.

Competencies, Technical Skills, and Knowledge

  • Highly experienced assistant store manager (3-5 years) from a luxury womenswear retail environment; demonstrable skills and experience in sales, retail management, or operations
  • Demonstrable talent development, performance management, and management skills
  • Resourcing – team schedule, rota management, and duty assignment

  • Event Planning and Management skills and experience
  • Clienteling and luxury sales techniques and skills
